What is Pathogenic?
Pathogenic is a 2D action roguelike and twin-stick shooter where you control an invasive pathogen fighting through a human host. Enemy cells, rival parasites and powerful bosses stand between you and complete infection.
Runs revolve around collecting and grafting organelles onto your pathogen, discovering synergies and evolving new layouts. Between runs, plasmid upgrades provide permanent progression while procedurally generated organs keep each attempt different.
Build, Evolve, Survive
Pathogenic Beginner Guide
Start by treating every run as an experiment rather than a race to the final organ. Learn how movement, stamina, organelle placement and room rewards interact before chasing complicated synergy chains.

The strongest Pathogenic builds usually solve three jobs at once: dependable damage, safe positioning and a way to scale as rooms become more dangerous.
Read guide →GUIDEPathogenic Organelles Guide
Organelles are the core building pieces of your pathogen. You loot them from the run, graft them onto your body and combine their effects to create movement, offense and utility.
Read guide →GUIDEPathogenic Mutations Guide
Mutations modify how a run behaves and can push an ordinary organelle setup into a much stronger direction. Evaluate them by how well they reinforce what your build already does.

Pathogenic 1.0 includes seven distinct playable pathogens. Each one changes the starting shape or progression context enough to support different build ideas.

Plasmid fragments power Pathogenic’s between-run metaprogression. They let you invest in permanent improvements so later attempts begin with more options and stronger foundations.

Bosses are the run’s major execution checks. They reward a build that can deal damage while preserving enough mobility to react to large, readable threats.

Pathogenic 1.0 sends your infection through six organs. Official descriptions highlight distinct spaces such as the lungs, heart and brain, with each biome presenting its own defenders and environmental pressure.
